Marine Rust Cleaner

Product overview

Removes rust from steel and rust stains from brass, copper, stainless steel, wood, ceramics and aluminium; also for pre-coating surface preparation. For marine steel derusting and rust-stain cleaning on other compatible substrates. Trial rust removal from steel separately from rust-stain removal on wood, ceramics or non-ferrous metals; control contact and complete rinsing and protection promptly.

• Deck and steel structure derusting Removes rust, oxides and related inorganic soil from decks, steel structures and equipment.
• Coating repair preparation For chemical derusting before local repair, maintenance painting or protection to reduce coating impairment.
• Local onboard derusting Brush or locally treat equipment and structures that cannot be fully dismantled, within maintenance plans.

Application guidelines

1. Distinguish steel rust from stains on other substrates. Confirm materials, trial-clean, and remove oil and loose rust.
2. Prepare and apply as specified. Control contact time and monitor reaction and substrate condition.
3. Rinse thoroughly and finish as specified. Dry and protect steel promptly or proceed to coating.
