Rust Converter

Product overview

Converts some of the rust on steel into a more stable film for subsequent coating or protection. Loose rust, oil and contaminants must still be removed before application. For maintenance coating preparation on steel structures and equipment with adherent rust. Remove loose scale and oil; control conversion layer uniformity and drying before application of the selected primer system.

• Rust conversion on steel Treats residual rust where complete mechanical removal is difficult, providing a more stable surface for protection.
• Large structures and site maintenance For structures, equipment housings and large components unsuitable for immersion; apply by brush or spray.

Application guidelines

1. Remove loose scale, heavy rust and oil. Assess adherent rust and compatibility with the intended primer.
2. Apply uniformly as specified in the TDS. Control coverage and contact conditions; avoid missed areas and excessive pooling.
3. Allow the prescribed reaction and drying. Inspect the converted layer, then finish and coat as required by the system.
