Passivation & Rust Prevention

Stainless Steel Passivating Agent for Enhanced Corrosion Resistance

MTX-RP-103

Product overview

For stainless steel passivation to improve corrosion resistance. Suitable grades, process conditions and salt spray performance depend on the relevant TDS and actual test results. For passivation after machining, pickling or grinding. Treat a clean substrate under conditions matched to grade, surface condition and the prescribed process; assess results by agreed corrosion tests.

Typical applications

  • Post-processing passivation Restores and strengthens passivity after machining, welding, pickling or grinding stainless steel parts.
  • Corrosion-critical components For equipment parts, fasteners and precision components requiring cleanliness and corrosion resistance.
  • Pickling, rinsing and passivation Integrates into complete stainless steel treatment for consistent batch surface quality control.

Key benefits

  • Passive film maintenance Helps improve stainless steel corrosion resistance after processing.
  • Post-finishing treatment Complements degreasing, pickling or grinding clean-up in a complete treatment sequence.
  • Stainless steel finishing Provides a corrosion-resistance treatment after compatible cleaning and mechanical finishing.

Application guidelines

  1. Confirm grade. Complete degreasing and necessary oxide removal; check surface contamination.
  2. Passivate as specified in the TDS. Control solution, temperature and time; ensure full contact with all surfaces.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Check appearance and residues; verify complete-process corrosion resistance by agreed methods.

Use the current product TDS for operating parameters and the SDS for handling, storage and transport. Confirm compatibility under your process conditions.

Questions before ordering

Does passivation replace cleaning or removal of weld scale?

Passivate a suitably prepared, clean substrate. Degreasing and any necessary oxide or heat-tint removal are separate process considerations; confirm the required preparation for the component and its surface condition.

Can corrosion resistance be specified without a process trial?

Agree the acceptance method and evaluate the complete preparation, passivation, rinsing and drying sequence. Suitable grades and corrosion-test results depend on the approved process and actual testing.

What information should I provide for MTX-RP-103?

Share the substrate or equipment, process conditions, existing treatment, intended use, required quantity and destination country. We will review these with your product request.

Can I evaluate a sample?

Ask about sample availability and a representative evaluation for Stainless Steel Passivating Agent for Enhanced Corrosion Resistance. Sample quantity, shipment and trial conditions are agreed for the application.

Is private-label supply available?

Ask us to review MTX-RP-103 for your OEM programme. Packaging, labels, documentation and target-market requirements need to be agreed before supply.
