Product overview
An acidic rust remover for ferrous metals. Removes rust, oxides and adhering soil before painting, electroplating or corrosion protection. For acid pickling of ferrous parts before phosphating, blackening, coating or temporary protection. Remove oil that impedes acid contact; control the endpoint, substrate etching and subsequent processing delay to limit flash rust.
Typical applications
- Rust removal from steel parts Chemically removes red rust, light to moderate oxides and storage corrosion from carbon steel and other approved ferrous parts.
- Pickling before phosphating and coating Removes rust and oxide layers affecting subsequent film adhesion before phosphating, blackening, painting or protection.
- Maintenance and local rust removal For immersion or local treatment of equipment, tooling and steel structures, followed by neutralisation, passivation or protection.
Key benefits
- Rust removal Removes red rust and suitable oxides that obstruct subsequent surface treatment.
- Pretreatment integration Combines with degreasing, rinsing, phosphating and protection in a continuous process.
- Complex surfaces Chemical contact reaches suitable structural areas to complement mechanical rust removal.
Application guidelines
- Confirm steel and rust types. Degrease and remove loose scale first; check dimensional requirements for precision parts.
- Prepare the pickling solution as specified in the TDS. Control acidity, temperature and time; assess the endpoint by rust removal.
- Rinse thoroughly and complete the specified neutralisation or protection. Proceed promptly to the next stage to limit flash rust.
Use the current product TDS for operating parameters and the SDS for handling, storage and transport. Confirm compatibility under your process conditions.
