Product overview
For soap lubrication after phosphating steel wire, tubes and approved steel parts, forming a lubricant layer for drawing or cold heading. For soap treatment of phosphated wire, tubes and cold-formed parts. The lubricant works with the conversion coating; control rinse quality, bath condition, coverage and drying, and validate by actual cold working results.
Typical applications
- Phosphated steel soap treatment Combines the conversion coating and soap lubricant into a coordinated cold working surface system.
- Wire drawing and cold heading Lubricates before continuous drawing, heading and other plastic forming to reduce die-workpiece friction.
- Drawing pretreatment lines Fits standard degreasing, pickling, phosphating and soap-treatment sequences for batch or continuous production.
Key benefits
- Phosphate coating compatibility Forms a cold working lubricant system on the conversion coating.
- Cold forming applications For wire drawing, tube drawing and compatible cold-headed parts.
- Cold-working lubrication Provides a soap-based lubricant layer for the interface between the workpiece and forming tools.
Application guidelines
- Confirm complete phosphate coverage and perform specified rinses. Prevent acid and soil carryover into the soap bath.
- Make up and control the bath as specified in the TDS. Cover surfaces uniformly and maintain the solution.
