Phosphating & Conversion Coatings
Low-Sludge Drawing Phosphating Agent
MTX-PH-106
Product overview
A medium-temperature, low-sludge phosphating concentrate for general steel drawing, including wire, bar and approved parts. The conversion coating carries subsequent soap-based or compatible drawing lubricants. Select by substrate, reduction and lubricant system. Control temperature, acidity and coverage; verify drawn surface quality. Evaluate PH-104 for fastener cold heading and PH-105 for dedicated steel-tube drawing.
Typical applications
- General steel drawing For wire, bar and other approved steel parts; evaluate this medium-temperature grade against the actual reduction and lubricant system.
- Batch or continuous pretreatment Control temperature, acidity and coating coverage across the processing load; maintain the specified rinsing and lubrication sequence.
- Selection against dedicated grades Use PH-102 for dedicated steel-wire drawing evaluation, PH-104 for fastener cold heading and PH-105 for steel-tube drawing evaluation.
Key benefits
- Medium-temperature pretreatment Provides a conversion coating base for subsequent lubrication and cold working.
- Low-sludge bath system Balances coating quality with sludge maintenance during continuous production.
- Lubrication integration Combines with soap treatment and suitable drawing lubricants in a complete pretreatment sequence.
Application guidelines
- Complete prescribed degreasing, pickling, rinsing and activation. Confirm material grade and drawing lubrication requirements.
- Control bath conditions and replenish from analysis using the matched TDS system. Confirm PH-107 compatibility before use.
- Check film formation, then rinse, lubricate and dry as prescribed. Record drawn surface quality and die condition.
Use the current product TDS for operating parameters and the SDS for handling, storage and transport. Confirm compatibility under your process conditions.
